MASTISOL is a clear, non-irritating, non-water-soluble liquid adhesive that secures even the most difficult dressings to minor lacerations for an extended period of time. Mastisol protects wounds from infection by sealing the dressing to the skin and keeping it in place. Mastisol is meant to be applied to a clean, non-broken skin area surrounding the wound. After 20-30 seconds, the dressing, tape or device can be placed against the sticky skin surface. Its non-water solubility means it will keep your dressings secure even in the moistest environments. STERI-STRIPS are thin adhesive strips used to close small incisions. They are made of non-woven, porous backing coated with a hypoallergenic adhesive that responds to pressure.Working perfectly with MASTISOL, these strips are used to pull and hold the edges of a wound together to allow healing time. They are often used in place of sutures and have distinct advantages and disadvantages in certainsituations.
